Dear EVERI Members,
I am contacting you with reference to an action point announced in the General Assembly meeting that took place in November last year in Brussels. At that meeting HERMES project
, presented a framework for the accreditation of training in laboratory animal science and medicine, was presented to EVERI Members. EVERI has agreed to contribute to this project by proposing peer-reviewers to review the work developed by the different package-leaders. This action has been completed. Additionally, HERMES promised to share information on for the participation to the pilot online training course. This action was planned to run last spring, however due to the pandemic has been postponed.
The Call for applications
to the pilot HERMES e-Learning course
on ‘Recognition of pain, suffering and distress and its application in the evaluation of severity of the procedures’ (species specific: mice and rats)
is now ready and will start on October 12, 2020.
The whole application process is web based and it is very easy and linear (Application form
). Detailed information about the requisites are included in the Call for applications
. The deadline for enrolment is October 7,2020.
The course is addressed to:
- Postgraduate students of a 3-year study cycle in the areas of medicine and health sciences interested to work on LAS.
- Veterinary students at their 2nd cycle of studies (at year 4-6 of Master cycle),
- postgraduate students and professionals (researchers employed in academia, industry or public research institutions) involved in use and care of animals for scientific purposes currently working or interested to work on LAS.
